Preview and validate your store
Concept
QueueJump provides a preview mode that lets you open your storefront as a customer would see it while your store is still hidden from the public.
The preview reflects your current configuration, including:
- Branding and logo
- Menu structure
- Item descriptions and pricing
- Variant and modifier behaviour
- Allergen declarations and dietary tags
- Social links and contact details
- Session timing and ordering availability
Preview is not a mock-up. It uses your real storefront configuration.
Why it matters
Previewing your store before promotion reduces avoidable errors and improves first-session confidence.
It allows you to:
- Validate pricing and modifier logic.
- Confirm required choices behave correctly.
- Check that allergen information is visible where required.
- Ensure branding and contact details are accurate.
- Experience the customer journey before sharing publicly.
Small configuration errors are easier to correct before promotion.
Preview testing should be a standard launch step, not an optional extra.
How to use it
- In the vendor dashboard header, open the store status menu and select Preview store.
- Review your storefront layout and menu structure.
- Add multiple items to basket, including high-customisation items.
- Confirm:
- Required choices cannot be bypassed.
- Price adjustments display correctly.
- Basket totals reflect modifier selections.
- Descriptions and allergen information display clearly.
- If Stripe is connected and paid checkout is ready, place a low-value live order to validate the full flow.
Use preview to simulate realistic customer behaviour. Test edge cases, not only ideal paths.
How to verify it worked
After preview validation:
- Modifier selections display clearly in basket and order details.
- Price deltas calculate accurately.
- Items marked unavailable are not orderable.
- Session timing and ordering availability behave as expected.
- Confirmation emails are received (if you placed a low-value live order).
If behaviour is unexpected, adjust menu, modifier, or session settings and re-check.
What preview does not do
- It does not bypass Stripe verification requirements.
- It does not publish your store publicly.
- It does not include draft or unpublished sessions in storefront listings.
- It does not replace final validation with at least one low-value live order.
Preview is a validation tool. Final go-live confidence still requires one successful real checkout.
Common mistakes
- Sharing a session link publicly without preview validation.
- Testing only one simple item instead of high-customisation items.
- Forgetting to verify modifier price adjustments.
- Overlooking allergen or dietary information visibility.
- Assuming preview alone is enough without one real low-value order.
